USTA Eastern Forms New Partnership with PM Pediatrics

White Plains, NY – May 18, 2011 – Junior tennis players who get injured at night or on the weekends don’t need to rush to a hospital emergency room anymore. That’s because PM Pediatrics, USTA Eastern’s newest partner, provides after-hours pediatric urgent care for a broad array of illnesses and injuries, including sprains, fractures and wounds requiring stitches.

PM Pediatrics is the preeminent provider of after-hours pediatric urgent care in New York, operating practices in Syosset, Selden, Mamaroneck and Bayside, Queens. Open 365-days a year including evenings, weekends and holidays, each uniquely themed, child-friendly office features on-site digital X-ray and a comprehensive laboratory for immediate test results. PM Pediatrics takes special care to fax each patient’s medical records to their primary care provider the day of their visit, ensuring timely follow-up and continuity. The locations also include play areas for children with video games, books, toys and games, and TVs in every exam room.

This year, PM Pediatrics has become the official sponsor of Jr. Team Tennis in USTA Eastern’s Long Island Region, and will be promoted at league matches and in USTA Eastern online and print publications. The company will also provide content for a new health and nutrition page on USTA Eastern website, that will provide tips to help tennis players stay fit.

“We know how much children who play tennis look forward to their matches each weekend,” said Dr. Jeffrey Schor, founder of PM Pediatrics, who worked as a physician at the US Open for 10 years and played tennis in college. “We are excited to partner with USTA Eastern, and help prevent injuries as well as ensure that injured or sick players receive the care they need to get back on the courts.”

“We are extremely fortunate to partner with PM Pediatrics,” said Michelle Blake Wilson, Managing Director of Marketing and Communications for USTA Eastern. “You never know when a child will need to see a doctor, and it’s good to know that there is a comfortable place nearby where they can get high-quality care whenever they need it.”
