PM Pediatrics to Open Ninth Specialized Urgent Care Practice Monday, February 17 in Spring Valley, NY

PM Pediatrics, an award-winning provider of specialized urgent care for newborns through college, will open its ninth urgent-care practice on Monday, February 17 in Spring Valley, NY. The 6,950-square-foot office located at 19 Spring Valley Marketplace, features state-of-the-art x-ray and lab, and 16 exam rooms set against a beautiful enchanted castle backdrop. Dr. Andre Persaud will serve as Medical Director of the new Rockland County location, overseeing all medical operations for the practice. Dr. Persaud has worked as an urgent-care physician at PM Pediatrics in Mamaroneck since 2007, and has served as the practice’s Assistant Medical Director since 2012. Dr. Persaud is also the Director of Education for PM Pediatrics. Each PM Pediatrics office is open Monday through Saturday, from noon to midnight, and on Sundays and select holidays from 10:00 a.m. to midnight. PM Pediatrics has six additional sites in New York—in Queens, Brooklyn and Westchester counties and on Long Island. They also have two New Jersey locations, in Middlesex and Essex counties. “Dr. Persaud’s extensive background as a pediatric emergency physician and educator will undoubtedly play a huge role in the success of PM Pediatrics in Spring Valley,” said Dr. Jeffrey Schor, managing member of PM Pediatrics. “He has been at the helm of the company’s educational commitment, which will continue to benefit the patients and the medical community at large in Rockland County.” Every state-of-the-art PM Pediatrics practice is staffed by Pediatric Emergency Specialists, including board-certified pediatricians and pediatric emergency physicians, who provide care and treatment for a broad array of illness and injuries including asthma, fever and other infections, dehydration, sprains and fractures, wounds requiring stitches, and much more. Each office has on-site digital x-ray, which produces high-resolution images read by a board-certified pediatric radiologist, and sent easily to a patient’s primary care physician or orthopedist. Additionally, the practices feature a comprehensive laboratory on-site, which performs blood and urine tests and a variety of rapid tests for infectious diseases. Unlike most traditional urgent care practices, PM Pediatrics specializes in treating children and young adults only. They believe strongly in a child’s medical home and do not offer wellness visits, physicals, school check-ups or immunizations. PM Pediatrics takes special care to send each patient’s medical records to their primary care provider the day of their visit, ensuring timely follow-up and continuity of care. Each location also has access to specialists such as plastic surgeons or orthopedists, as needed. All PM Pediatrics locations are uniquely themed and feature TVs in every exam room, creating a warm, welcoming environment for kids and adults alike. This model of care, comfort and convenience has been enthusiastically received with over 450,000 patient visits to date.
