PM Pediatrics Names David Mathison, MD Regional Medical Director of PM Pediatrics for Mid-Atlantic Region

LAKE SUCCESS, NY – June 10, 2015 – PM Pediatrics, one of the nation’s largest providers of specialized pediatric urgent care, is pleased to announce the appointment of David Mathison, MD, MBA, FAAP as Mid-Atlantic Regional Medical Director. Dr. Mathison will be responsible for leading the development of PM Pediatrics locations in the region, ensuring consistency and excellence, overseeing clinical operations, quality initiatives, education and training. On Monday, June 15, PM Pediatrics will launch its first DC Metro location in Greenbelt, MD at 7401 Greenbelt Rd. in the Greenway Shopping Center. Dr. Mathison will serve as Medical Director for the beach boardwalk themed practice. The Greenbelt location will be the company’s 17th overall, joining locations throughout New York and New Jersey.

PM Pediatrics of Greenbelt will be open 365 days a year, from Noon to Midnight, and will feature onsite digital x-ray and lab, 12 exam rooms and two procedure rooms. Unlike traditional urgent care practices, PM Pediatrics treats children and young adults exclusively, utilizing Pediatric Emergency Specialists, appropriately sized equipment and an office environment tailored to deliver the best possible care for pediatric patients. The practice treats a broad array of illness and injuries including asthma, fever, infections, dehydration, fractures, wounds requiring stitches and more.

Dr. Mathison is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and continues to serve as a faculty member in the Emergency Department at Children’s National in Washington D.C. Prior to joining PM Pediatrics, he served as the medical director of the Children’s National pediatric transport team, the largest of its kind in the country. Dr. Mathison is Board Certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Emergency Medicine. He completed a residency in Pediatrics at Northwestern University where he also served as Chief Resident, and subsequently completed a Fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Children’s National Medical Center. He earned his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School and his B.A. in Economics from Emory University. Dr. Mathison also has an M.B.A. from George Washington University.
